Dr. Ratio talks about why we’re offering Regenerative Medicine.

“I’ve done it myself.  I really believe in what it can do.”

Dr. Ratio’s Elbow Tendonitis

Not many of you know that a couple years ago, Dr. Ratio was experiencing elbow pain might have interrupted his career.  As someone with a physically demanding job, he could not afford to have pain of his own.  In doing some research, he discovered the new field of Regenerative Medicine and a therapy called PRP (platelet-rich plasma), specifically for healing joint pain long-term.

Two years after PRP injections, still pain free!

After two injections spaced about two weeks apart, he noticed the pain was gone.  And since PRP is a regenerative therapy that actually uses “the good stuff” in our blood to repair the body, this treatment actually healed his tendonitis – versus using medicine to mask the pain.   Doc is happy to be free of that nasty tendonitis so he can continue helping other people get out of pain! More information about PRP therapy can be found here.

More about Regenerative Medicine

Regenerative medicine promotes the healing and repair of diseased, dysfunctional or injured tissue using both donated tissue or the body’s own natural biological materials. It can be particularly useful for patients who wish to avoid surgery or who no longer find relief from traditional treatments like cortisone injections. Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) therapy uses injections of a concentration of a patient’s own platelets to accelerate the healing of injured tendons, ligaments, muscles and joints. In this way, PRP injections use each individual patient’s own healing system to improve musculoskeletal problems. Human Cellular Tissue Product (HCT-P) therapy involves using stem cells from birth tissues donated by expectant mothers, which have the unique property of being able to develop into many different cell types, resulting in pain relief, reduced inflammation, and improved function of the affected area. Donated stem cell tissue is the ideal choice for individuals over the age of fifty who, due to the aging process, may have less viable regenerative components than a younger person.
