Chiropractic care is a drug-free, hands-on approach to health and healing. When clinically indicated, gentle manual or instrument-assisted joint mobilizations are used to restore joint motion. Manipulation of the joint of the spine and extremities have been proven not only to relieve low back pain, neck pain but also sciatica, headaches and carpel tunnel syndrome.
Cranial Sacral Therapy
The motion of the skull bones and whether both hemispheres of the brain are in motion is of utmost importance. The skull, or cranium, is one of the body’s key areas, the place from where the nervous system originates, and the lack of rhythmic movement here could indicate severe health problems. Correction of cranial movement and the tissue beneath it allows for optimal function of the nervous system that is needed for optimum healing.
Rehabilitation & Exercise Programs
Injury, trauma and/or repetitive stress can cause muscle imbalances and weaknesses. A rehabilitation program which strengthens key muscle groups can speed the recover process and promote efficient, pain-free movement.
Kinesio Taping
Kinesio taping supports and heals overstrained joints, ligaments, and muscles by promoting lymphatic drainage, enhancing neurologic muscle function and supporting muscular action. Performed in an effort to restrict range of motion, prevent continued swelling and provide moderate support for injured joints and surrounding structures.
Neuromuscular Therapy/Active Release Therapy (ART)
When a muscle goes into spasm, it tends to close off its own blood drainage due to pressure on veins. This causes an accumulation of the waste product concentration and the development of tender, localized, nodules caused “trigger points”. Trigger points are usually sensitive to the touch and commonly refer pain to other regions when inflamed or stimulated. The use of deep digital massage and pressure, called neuromuscular therapy, is used to increase lymphatic drainage in and around the trigger points and the involved musculature. Elongating muscle and fascial tissue is essential to restore muscle strength and optimal joint motion. ART combines manual stretching techniques with pressure.
